Gnip is a software startup building a variety of web infrastructure components that facilitate data portability. We are building our engineering team in Boulder, CO.
Our products are consumed via a variety of "web service" APIs that act as our primary interface to our customers (e.g. developers like you). From the back-end server implementation, to scripting language specific convenience libraries that leverage our APIs, the software we're building runs the gamut.
We are funded by the good folks at Foundry Group, First Round Capital, and SoftTech.
Salary: Commensurate with skills and experience.
We are looking for folks ready, willing, and able to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
We are looking for folks who are passionate about what it is we're building, and who can channel that passion into representing our technology to a wide variety of audiences. From outreach to our technical (multi-programming language) community, and supporting the message boards, to assisting our business developemnt and sales team, this role cuts across the entire team. Creativity with APIs and their usage is a must. Candidate needs to be independent in their thinking; prototyping and building visualizations without direction.
We see a lot of candidates who have just enough understanding of building "web applications" and XHTML/AJaX to build some neat things, but we need this ability, as well as a level deeper. Candidate needs to understand AJaX's underpinnings, shortcommings, it's history and evolution. You're an artist, and web app technologies are the pallette you use to convey a deeper understanding of your vision; they are just tools. You use whatever tools necessary to express your vision and drive to the world.
We are looking for folks who can dive in and contribute in short order. If you feel you've got it all, or have expertise in a relevant subset of the areas described here, we'd like to .
